The Adoption Process
My firm can handle all aspects of your adoption for a reasonable fee. I can:
- Review your situation and explain the adoption process
- Prepare the adoption petition and supporting documentation
- Go to court to obtain a termination of parental rights of the biological parent
- Prepare you for a required home visit or interview with a social worker
- Achieve an approved adoption petition
- Obtain a birth certificate listing the names of the new parent or parents
In those cases where the biological parent cannot be found, I can work with a private investigator to locate that parent. As a general rule, my firm does not handle agency adoptions or private adoptions.
A child can bring great joy and satisfaction into your life. You must remember though, that you will be legally responsible for that child and for the provision of his or her well-being until that child turns 18. I can explain your responsibilities so that you are prepared to assume your parental responsibilities.
